Hi! Welcome to my space.

I’m pretty excited to be here, writing and sharing my unique experience and thoughts. I look forward to finally having a place online to really call my own. I want to be open and honest here in a way that I haven’t been able to on other sites.

Since I may be sharing very personal stories and reflections, please be aware that ALL names will be changed to protect the innocent and the not-so-innocent. This is not at all because of the autistic aspect of this blog; rather, it is entirely because these stories are not only my own. My family members and friends have their right to privacy and anonymity will help to respect that right. Other than names, what you read here will always be true to the best of my understanding.

About the Blog Title

I specifically don’t call myself “the” Catholic Autistic because I am obviously not the only one in the world. I am just “a” singular person sharing her experience. This is a blog about who I am and I am first and foremost a Catholic. What that means to me is central to my experience as a human. Autistic is increasingly becoming the next major identifying reality about me. I am just beginning to understand what that means for me and I am honestly really excited to keep learning about it.

I welcome respectful dialogue. I appreciate comments and feedback. However, this is not a place for argument or debate, particularly regarding the teachings of the Catholic Church. Any such comments will be deleted.

This is also not an apologetics website. I simply do not have the ability to provide all the answers or you at this time. Recommended resources will be coming soon.
